PaceFlow Lite — Terms of Service
Effective from 1 September 2026.
These terms apply to PaceFlow Lite, our mobile app. They do not apply to PaceFlow, our web platform for clubs and organisations.
Version 1.5 · Last updated: 25 August 2026
Some of what this document describes is still being built. We are publishing it before launch so you can see the standard we hold ourselves to. The following are in build and not yet live at the date of this version, and each is tracked as a launch gate in our data protection impact assessment:
- the in-app report control on coach feedback, replies and announcements
- in-app account deletion
- the guardian-visible area and the child-facing oversight indicator
- cloud sync as a separate opt-in, off by default
- a guardian attached at signup for every under-18 — today enforced for under-13s only
- guardian approval of every under-18 coach connection — today enforced for under-13s only
- ending a coach's access by leaving, removal or disbanding a squad
- Sign in with Apple as the production sign-in route
- generated or list-chosen display names for under-18s — today the display name is free text
- capture of a coach's clearance warranty and club affiliation before an under-18 connection
Where a section below describes one of these, it describes the position at launch.
(v1.0, 17 June 2026. v1.1, 24 July 2026 — corrected the under-13 registration description and the free-tier and squad entitlements; added cancellation rights and age-declaration terms. v1.2, 29 July 2026 — corrected the training-data licence so it no longer contradicts the withdrawable consent promised in our privacy policy, and stated the under-18 training-data exclusion. v1.4, 20 August 2026 — consistency pass across the whole pack: location wording aligned (county never shown for an under-18, home nation shown), the cloud-sync opt-in carried into every document, club in-app viewing reflected in the recipients table, coach history visibility aligned to the either-party-pays rule, and every control that is not yet live marked as in build rather than asserted as present. v1.5, 25 August 2026 — removed the statement that coach accounts are reviewed and approved by us before activation. We do not operate any such review, and the statement contradicted the clearance-warranty model set out in the same section, under which the coach warrants their own safeguarding clearance and their club or organisation remains the vetting body. Also corrected a stray formatting marker that displayed as a literal asterisk.)
These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of the PaceFlow Lite mobile application ("the App"), operated by DINETICQ LIMITED ("we", "us", "our"), a company registered in England and Wales (company number 13861110), with registered address at Atic, 5 Oakwood Drive, Loughborough, England, LE11 3QF.
By using the App, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the App.
1. The Service
PaceFlow Lite analyses cricket bowling videos to provide performance metrics including ball speed, arm angles, foot contacts, and event detection. The analysis is performed on your device using machine learning models.
2. Eligibility and age
2.1 Declaring your age
You tell us your date of birth when you register. You must give your real date of birth. We use it to decide which protections apply to your account, so an inaccurate date of birth removes protections intended for you. We may suspend an account where we have reason to believe the declared age is false.
We apply two separate age lines. 13 is the age at which a young person can consent to their own data being processed (Article 8(1) UK GDPR). 18 is the safeguarding line. A 15-year-old may hold their own account, but every safeguarding protection in these Terms still applies to them.
2.2 If you are under 13 — a parent or guardian holds the account
Children under 13 do not hold accounts with us. A parent or guardian registers, holds the account, and is the account holder for these Terms. The child uses the App under that account, with the guardian's knowledge and supervision.
The guardian is responsible for the account, including any subscription, and is the person we contact about it.
2.3 If you are 13 to 17 — you may hold the account, with a guardian attached
You may register in your own name, but a parent or guardian must be attached to your account when you sign up:
- You give us the email address of a parent or guardian.
- We email them a single-use link to confirm.
- Until they confirm, your account is limited to analysis on your own device — you can record and view your own results, but nothing leaves your device: no uploading, no squad, no leaderboard.
- This limit applies regardless of whether the account is free or paid.
While you are under 18: sharing features are off by default; no video of you is ever published to a leaderboard; there is no private messaging channel with a coach; every squad you join must be approved by your parent or guardian, who is shown the club and the coaches attached to it before approving; if a coach is later added to that squad your guardian is told, naming them, and can remove you from the squad at any time; and your parent or guardian can see coach feedback on your sessions. The App shows you when this is the case.
2.4 Availability outside the United Kingdom
Some countries set a higher age, or require verified parental consent up to 18. Our rules follow the country you signed up in. At launch PaceFlow Lite is available in the United Kingdom only.
2.5 If a coach records you without your own account
A coach may create a profile for a player who does not hold an account (a "managed player"). For any player under 18, a parent or guardian must approve before the coach can create that profile or record anything for that player. Coaches cannot create junior player profiles on their own initiative.
3. Accounts
- You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials.
- You must provide accurate information when registering. Where you choose your own display name, it must not impersonate another person or contain offensive material. Users under 18 do not enter a display name as free text — it is generated by us or chosen from a list.
- We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms.
4. Subscriptions and payments
- Free tier (player): Analyse unlimited videos. We retain your most recent side-view analysis and most recent rear-view analysis — two independent slots. A new recording of the same view replaces the previous one of that view; the other view is unaffected. Community leaderboard access. You can join a squad, see your coach's feedback, and read the full conversation history with your coach, including older messages whose analyses have since been replaced.
- Paid tier (Pro player): Everything above, plus full analysis history, verified leaderboard entries, speed history and trends, and event correction tools.
- Coach tier: Everything above for the coach's own analyses, plus squad creation, announcements, and annotation tools. Where either the player or the coach holds a paid subscription, the coach can see that player's full analysis history; where neither does, the coach sees the most recent side-view and rear-view analysis — the same two the player sees. See our Privacy Policy, section 2.4.
- Subscriptions are managed through Apple App Store or Google Play Store. Payment, renewal, and cancellation are handled by Apple/Google according to their terms.
- We do not process or store payment information directly.
4.0 Price, renewal and your cancellation rights
- The price, billing period and renewal terms of each subscription are shown in the app before you purchase, and again by Apple or Google at the point of payment.
- Subscriptions renew automatically at the end of each billing period unless you cancel at least 24 hours before it ends. You cancel through your device's subscription settings (Apple or Google), not through us.
- 14-day cancellation right. As a consumer you normally have 14 days to cancel a purchase of digital content. Because a subscription gives you immediate access to the paid features, by completing the purchase you request that supply begins straight away and acknowledge that you lose the 14-day right to cancel once supply has begun.
- This does not affect your legal rights if the service is faulty, not as described, or not supplied with reasonable care and skill.
- Refund requests are handled by Apple or Google under their own policies, as they are the seller of record.
4.1 Cancellation and data retention
- You may cancel your subscription at any time through your device's subscription settings (Apple/Google).
- Upon cancellation, your data is retained for 30 days (grace period). After 30 days, cloud data moves to archive storage. After 13 months, archived data is permanently deleted.
- Data on your device is not affected by subscription cancellation.
- If you resubscribe within the retention period, your full history is restored.
5. User content
5.1 Your videos and data
- You retain ownership of all videos you record or import into the App.
- By sharing content on leaderboards or with squads, you grant us a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free licence to display, distribute, and store that content for the purpose of operating the service. This licence terminates when you withdraw consent or delete the content.
5.2 Training data
- Training data is not available to users under 18. This is an age limit, not a choice: the option is withheld from under-18 accounts entirely and cannot be enabled by the child, or by a parent or guardian on their behalf.
- If you are 18 or over and consent to training data collection, you grant us a royalty-free licence to use anonymised clips of your bowling action to improve our machine learning models. These clips are stripped of identifiers and are not linked to your account.
- You may withdraw this consent at any time, which stops any further clips being contributed. Because clips already contributed are anonymised and hold no link back to your account, we cannot identify and retrieve those specific clips, so they remain in the anonymised training set; withdrawal is not retrospective for that reason alone.
5.3 Your responsibilities
When sharing content (videos, leaderboard entries, squad feedback), you warrant that:
- You own the video or have permission to share it
- No unconsenting third parties are identifiably featured
- The content does not contain illegal, harmful, offensive, or inappropriate material
- For under-18s: a parent or guardian has approved sharing
5.4 Content moderation
We reserve the right to remove any content that violates these Terms, without notice. We may suspend or terminate accounts that repeatedly violate content standards.
6. Leaderboards
- Leaderboard entries are based on analysis results from the App.
- Community leaderboard: Available to all users. Entries are unverified (no video proof required).
- Verified leaderboard: Available to paid subscribers aged 18 or over. Entries include a video clip for verification by other users.
- Users under 18 — metrics only. A leaderboard entry for a user under 18 shows the measured speed, their display name, their age group and their home nation (for example England) — never the county. No video of a user under 18 is published, at any time, in any circumstances. This is not a setting and cannot be enabled by the user, by a parent or guardian, or by us. Where an under-18 entry requires verification, the clip is uploaded privately, reviewed, and deleted once verification is complete; it is never visible to other users.
- Under-18 display names are generated by us or chosen from a list rather than entered as free text, and an under-18 entry cannot be opened to view a profile.
- Other users may flag entries they believe to be fraudulent (e.g., bowling machines, thrown deliveries, manipulated video).
- We reserve the right to remove flagged entries after review.
6.1 Accuracy disclaimer
Ball speed, arm angles, and other metrics are estimates based on video analysis using machine learning models. They are not certified measurements and should not be relied upon for official records, selection decisions, or regulatory compliance (e.g., bowling action legality assessments).
7. Squads and coaching
- No coach discovery. The App does not provide a coach directory, coach search, coach browsing or public coach profiles. Coaches cannot find players through the App, and players cannot find coaches through the App.
- No unsolicited contact. A coach cannot add a player, invite a player, or contact a player on their own initiative. Every connection involving a player under 18 must be started or approved by that player's parent or guardian. The coaching relationship is expected to exist offline first.
- No private channel — for any user, of any age. The App provides no inbox, no direct-message surface and no persistent chat. Coach feedback attaches to a single analysis session and remains attached to it. A player may reply, and the reply stays on that session.
- Squad announcements. A coach may post a short text announcement to a squad. Announcements are one-way — players cannot reply to them — and go to the whole squad, never to an individual player. They are retained for audit purposes even if the coach deletes them, and carry a report control.
- Guardian visibility. For every player under 18, the parent or guardian attached to the account can see coach feedback and replies by default. This cannot be disabled by the coach or the player. The player is shown a clear indicator that a parent or guardian can see the session.
- Logged and reportable. Feedback and replies are retained and are not ephemeral. Every item of feedback carries a report control.
- Coaches can view the analysis metrics of players they are connected to, and provide feedback (text, voice, video for paid features).
- Player-to-player communication is not supported.
7.1 Coach responsibilities
Coaches are responsible for:
- The content of their announcements and feedback
- Ensuring appropriate communication with minors (under-18s)
- Not sharing individual player data outside the squad without the player's consent
Ending a coaching connection. A player (or, for an under-18, their parent or guardian) may leave a squad at any time. On leaving, the coach loses access to anything the player records afterwards, and to deliveries the player recorded themselves. Deliveries the coach recorded remain available to that coach as a record of the coaching provided, unless the player asks us to remove them — and for a player under 18, a parent or guardian may require their removal at any time, which we will act on. A player who has claimed their profile retains access to footage of themselves permanently; a coach cannot revoke it. A player's bowling history moves with them to a new squad; a coach's written feedback does not, and remains within the squad it was written in. Only the player or their guardian may move a player's data — a coach may not transfer it to another coach.
Clearance warranty. By creating or accepting any connection with a player under 18, you warrant that:
- you hold current and appropriate safeguarding clearance for the coaching role you perform — in the United Kingdom this means an enhanced DBS check with the children's barred list, or the equivalent from AccessNI or Disclosure Scotland (PVG);
- that clearance is current and has not been revoked or qualified in a way that affects your suitability to work with children; and
- where you coach through or on behalf of a club, academy or other organisation, you have identified that organisation to us and remain in good standing with it.
We do not ask you to send us your certificate, and we will not accept one. We do not view, copy or store DBS certificates or their contents. Your club or organisation remains the vetting body. You must notify us immediately if your clearance lapses, is revoked, or if your circumstances change such that the warranty above is no longer true — and we may suspend your access to junior players at any time.
Announcements are subject to the same responsibilities as feedback.
7.2 Footage a coach records of a player
When a coach records or imports a video of a player (including a "managed player" profile created for a player without their own account), that footage captures the player's athletic performance. Accordingly:
- The player is the subject of that footage and retains the right to use videos of their own bowling. Once the player links their own account to the managed-player profile (by redeeming the coach-issued claim code), they may use those recordings — including posting their own deliveries to the leaderboard — under their own profile and their own privacy choices, subject to the under-18 rules at section 6 (a player under 18 posts metrics only; no footage of them is published), with consent captured at the point of posting.
- A coach records on behalf of, and for the benefit of, the player. Recording a player does not give the coach the right to publish that player's footage publicly (e.g. to the public leaderboard); only the player can choose to do that.
- By recording a player through the App, the coach grants the player a non-exclusive, royalty-free licence to use footage of themselves as set out above. This does not affect the player's separate privacy consents, which govern any public sharing.
7.3 Coaching referrals
Where a player has no coach, we may show a referral to Fast Bowlers Ltd, a company connected to DINETICQ Limited. That connection is disclosed wherever the referral appears.
The referral is never shown on an under-18 account, and is shown to a guardian only where a guardian surface exists (in build). It is shown to the account holder — for an under-18, the parent or guardian — and never to a child. It is a static placement: it is not personalised, not targeted, and is never selected or triggered on the basis of a child's data. Using it is entirely optional and has no effect on the service.
8. Intellectual property
- The App, including its design, code, machine learning models, algorithms, and brand assets, is the intellectual property of DINETICQ LIMITED.
- You may not reverse-engineer, decompile, or extract the models or algorithms from the App.
- "PaceFlow" and "PaceFlow Lite" are trading names used by DINETICQ LIMITED, in which we claim unregistered rights. We have not asserted that either is a registered trade mark.
9. Limitation of liability
9.1 What we do not limit
Nothing in these Terms limits or excludes our liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, for fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation, or for any other liability that cannot lawfully be limited or excluded.
If you are a consumer, you have legal rights we cannot take away. Under the Consumer Rights Act 2015, digital content we supply must be of satisfactory quality, fit for purpose and as described, and any service must be performed with reasonable care and skill. Nothing here affects those rights, and nothing here requires you to give up a remedy the law gives you.
9.2 What the App does and does not promise
- The metrics the App produces — ball speed, angles, event timings and the like — are estimates derived from video analysis, not certified measurements. We describe how they are produced and we work to make them accurate, but they should not be relied on for official records, selection decisions, or any regulatory or disciplinary assessment (including bowling-action legality).
- Accordingly we are not liable for decisions made by you or by anyone else — a club, coach, selector or governing body — on the basis of a metric the App produced.
- We are not liable for injury arising from how you choose to train or bowl. The App measures technique; it does not supervise it, and it is not a substitute for qualified coaching or medical advice.
9.3 Our liability to you
We are responsible for loss or damage you suffer that is a foreseeable result of our breaking these Terms or failing to use reasonable care and skill. We are not responsible for loss or damage that is not foreseeable.
Where you are a consumer, our total liability to you in respect of any claim is limited to the greater of (a) £1,000, or (b) the total amount you have paid us in the 12 months before the claim arose. We have set a monetary floor deliberately, so that this clause does not operate as a total exclusion of liability for users on the free tier.
Where you use the App in the course of a business (for example, a coach or a club), our total liability is limited to the total amount paid in the 12 months before the claim, and we are not liable for loss of profit, loss of business, or business interruption.
10. Your responsibility for content you upload
If you upload or share content in breach of these Terms — content you have no right to share, content that identifies someone who has not agreed to it, or content that is unlawful, abusive or otherwise prohibited by section 5.3 — and a third party brings a claim against us as a result, you agree to reimburse us for the reasonable, properly evidenced losses and costs we incur in dealing with that claim.
This applies only to claims arising from your breach. It does not apply to ordinary use of the App, to anything caused by us, or to any claim we could have avoided by acting reasonably. If you are a consumer, nothing in this section affects your statutory rights, and we will tell you promptly about any claim before incurring costs, so you have the opportunity to respond.
11. Changes to these Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. We will notify you of material changes via in-app notification and/or email. Continued use of the App after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.
12. Termination
- You may stop using the App at any time and delete your account via the in-app settings.
- We may suspend or terminate your access if you violate these Terms, with or without notice.
- On termination, your shared content is removed from leaderboards and squads. Data deletion follows the timeline in our Privacy Policy.
13. Governing law and disputes
- These Terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales.
- Any disputes arising from these Terms or your use of the App shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.
14. Severability
If any provision of these Terms is found to be invalid or unenforceable, the remaining provisions shall continue in full force and effect.
15. Contact us
For any questions about these Terms:
DINETICQ LIMITED Atic, 5 Oakwood Drive, Loughborough, England, LE11 3QF Company number: 13861110
We use two addresses deliberately, so that requests reach the right people:
- accounts@dineticq.com — questions about these Terms, your account, subscriptions, billing and refunds.
- privacy@dineticq.com — anything about your personal data: access, deletion, correction, withdrawing consent, or a complaint about how we handle your information. Our Privacy Policy uses this address throughout.
If you are not sure which to use, either is fine and we will route it internally.
