Your privacy, explained simply

A short summary for younger players. Version 1.5 — 25 August 2026.

Some of this isn't ready yet. We're still building a few of the things below, and they'll all be working before the app is properly out:

the report button on feedback, replies and announcements
the Delete Account button
the part where your parent or guardian can see your coach's feedback, and the sign that tells you when they can
a parent or guardian being added when you sign up if you're 13 to 17 (right now that only happens if you're under 13)
being able to stop a coach seeing your stuff by leaving their squad
choosing your name from a list — right now you type your own

This is a short, plain-English summary to help you understand what we do with your information. It is not the full privacy policy — you can read the full one in the app, under Profile, or ask a parent or guardian to help you find it. The full policy is the one that legally applies, so if the two ever seem to disagree, the full one is correct.

What PaceFlow Lite does

You film yourself bowling. The app looks at the video and works out things like how fast the ball went, how your arm moved, and when your feet landed. Then it shows you the results.

Where your video goes

Nowhere, unless you say so. The app does all the clever bits on your phone. Your video doesn't get sent to us just because you analysed it. It stays on your phone.

What we ask you for, and why

Your email and a password — so you can log in.
A nickname — so you have a name on leaderboards instead of your real one.
Your date of birth — so we know how old you are. This matters because we treat under-18s more carefully.
Your height — this one's not nosy, we promise. We need it to work out your ball speed accurately.
Your county — you pick it from a list. If you're under 18, your county never goes on a leaderboard. It's only used if you and your parent or guardian choose to share your results with cricket clubs. We never track where you actually are.

The things you choose

These are all off to begin with. Nothing happens unless you turn it on, and you can turn any of them off again whenever you like.

Leaderboards — putting your speed and nickname on a list other players can see. If you're under 18, what goes up is your speed, your nickname, your age group and your home nation (like England) — never your county, and never a video of you.
Helping us improve — sending a few seconds of your bowling to help the app get better at reading actions. Your name isn't attached. (Not available if you're under 18.)
Sharing with cricket clubs — letting clubs, county boards or academies see how you're bowling, so they can spot players. Your videos are never sent to them. If they need to watch a delivery, they have to look at it inside PaceFlow, we keep a record of who watched, and your parent or guardian has to approve that club first. Turn it off and they lose access straight away.
Joining a squad — letting a coach see your results, watch the video of your delivery, and send you feedback.

If you're under 13

A parent or guardian has to say yes before you can use most of the app. When you sign up we'll ask for their email address and send them a link to approve it. Until they click it, you can still analyse your bowling on your phone — you just can't upload anything, join a squad, or go on the leaderboard.

If you're 13 to 17

You can have your own account — but a parent or guardian has to be attached to it when you sign up. We'll ask for their email address and send them a link. If you're under 18, whoever owns the account

Everything that shares your information starts switched off.
Your video is never put on the leaderboard. Not by you, not by your parent, not by us. If you're on the leaderboard, people see your speed and your nickname — never the footage. If we need to check a score is real, we look at the clip privately and then delete it.
Your nickname is one we generate or one you pick from a list, and people can't tap your name to see a profile.
A parent or guardian has to approve any coach before that coach can work with you.

Who can see your stuff

You — always.
Your coach — but only a coach your parent or guardian has approved. Coaches can't find you in the app or message you out of the blue. They can see your results and leave feedback on a session. If either you or your coach pays for a subscription, they can see all of your results; if neither of you does, they see your two most recent.

If you stop working with a coach

You can leave a squad whenever you want. Your coach then can't see anything new you record.

Videos your coach filmed at sessions stay with them as a record of the coaching they did — but you — or your parent or guardian — can ask us to remove those too, and we will. Videos you filmed stop being visible to them straight away.

Nothing your coach does can stop you seeing videos of yourself. Once your account is linked, that's yours to keep.

And your bowling history comes with you. If you join a new coach, your results go with you — but your old coach's notes stay behind. Only you (or your parent or guardian) can move your data. A coach can never hand it to another coach.

Your parent or guardian — if you're under 18, they can see the feedback your coach leaves and anything you reply. We'll show you when they can see it, so you always know. There's no private chat in the app at all — feedback stays on the bowling session it's about, where an adult you trust can see it. A coach can also post an announcement to the whole squad (like "training's moved to Thursday") — everyone sees those, and nobody can reply to them. If anything ever feels wrong — feedback, a reply, or an announcement — there will be a report button on it. Use it, and tell an adult you trust.
Other people in your squad — just your nickname and your best speed. Not your individual sessions, and not any messages.
Everyone — only if you turn on the public leaderboard.
Us — only for a proper reason, like fixing a bug you reported or looking into a safety concern. When a member of our staff looks at your information they have to give a reason, and it gets written down in a log. You can ask us for that log.

Things we never do

We never track where you are.
We never look at your contacts or your photos (other than bowling videos you choose to bring in).
We never sell your information to advertisers.
We never show you adverts.
We never send you adverts or marketing messages. The only notifications we send are about your own account — like your coach leaving you feedback — and you can turn those off on your phone.

Your rights

You can ask us to show you everything we hold about you, fix anything wrong, or delete all of it. There's a Delete Account button in the app, or you can email us. We'll sort it within a month.

Tell a parent, guardian or coach, and email us at privacy@dineticq.com.

If you're not happy with how we've handled your information, you (or your parent) can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office — they're the UK organisation that makes sure companies look after people's data properly. They're at ico.org.uk.
